Well having used this Philips Satinelle Ice epilator a few times now, it’s definitely a lot better than shaving. It hardly leaves any ingrown hairs or itchy hair regrowth. It’s also lot easier and less messy than waxing.
To prevent ingrown hairs you must always exfoliate your skin with a scrub of some sort anyway.
As with any epilator it still hurts a little, but the results are worth it and the ice attachment makes it a lot more comfortable. The first couple of times are always worse the first time and you have to grin and bear it, but it gets a lot easier, as with all epilators.
Compared to other machines I have used, the new philips satinelle epilator is a lot better at grabbing all the hair in its path, which means that I normally only had to go back once to get rid of the last odd strays rather than do a strip several times as has happened with other epilators.
Despite being cordless it is powerful enough to do its job well, although I find that the battery does not last long enough to do more than legs and underarms. As it also runs while being plugged in, this is only a minor complaint.
I also found this model far easier to clean than other ones, which is a huge advantage because you want to keep your epilator clean at all times!
I really like the carry case it comes in aswell (is that really sad!?). It’s silver and really convenient to hold all the bits and pieces you get.

Would I recommend this epilator?
